Advocates are available to actively listen to the victim as they express their needs. The Advocate will assist the victim in developing a safety plan based on their situation and will provide education on the dynamics of power and control. Together, they will work to identify support systems already in the victim’s life and those that could be added. The advocate will educate and work with the victim on different ways for the victim to build coping skills and to develop personal goals in order to move toward self-sufficiency.
